About Me Workshop

I was born in South America and have lived all over the place, but of course I had to marry a Yorkshire man. I now live in Harrogate and love it.

I studied interiors and curtain design in Chelsea and later in Cumbria. My first commission soon followed and I now have been in business for over 15 years. I never set out to be an interior designer but when people came to my home they said I had a natural flair for colour co-ordination, design and soft furnishings. People started asking me to help them out.

Where I succeed is that I am passionate about what I do and a stickler for detail: I quickly take on board what the client is trying to achieve whether it is classic or contemporary; I keep up to date on what is new on the market and the latest in technology; I also have a personal interest in the effect of colour on mood, and as a result I always carry around with me an innovative paint colour palette system to take into account our northern light. Read more about this in my design tips.

How do I work?

The initial consultation is always free but I reserve the right to charge for later ones. There will be a fee if you live a long way away from Harrogate or you use my ideas and designs but do not place any order with me. You might not be sure what you are looking for and that is as good a reason as any for talking to me. We can then decide what to do next – most probably a meeting at your home or commercial premises.

I do not charge for an initial consultation as I feel that an important part of my job is to get to know your personality, taste and what result you want to achieve. Even if you think you have no idea, believe it or not, all of us have.

Just looking at some pictures of what you like and don’t like will enable me to work with you to develop your own unique style and in a way to suit your budget.

What I do in a nutshell?

I am happy to give free advice over the phone or simply help ‘re-organise’ a room. I also offer a full project management service to include curtains, sofas/upholstery, lighting, audio/visual, carpets/flooring and joinery.

I have a team of highly experienced people to draw upon as and when needed.

What makes me special?

Lots of people shy away from using interior designers – they fear it’s going to cost them an arm and a leg and that the end result will be that oBedf the designer and not their vision.

Let me put your mind at rest. Most people have a budget they want to work too and it is in my interest to try and give them what they want within that budget, otherwise I would not be in business. In fact many of my clients have admitted to me at the end of the project that not only have I saved them money but also spared them wasted time that would have been spent trailing around the shops looking for inspiration and becoming frustrated.

Most people have their own personal style and an idea of what they want. My job is to interpret and develop their style and to work closely with them to realise it.
